An Eagle Series?

I haven't started an Eagle Quilt yet, but
I seem to be seeing eagles everywhere!
I've always wanted to make this Jo Morton quilt.
(Banner Day book)

And I have the panel needed to make this Jo Morton quilt.
(Banner Day book)

This Kim Diehl pattern is also on my list!
(Simple Season's book)

My friend Julierose reminded me about this one in American Patchwork and Quilting magazine.
(October 2002)

Maybe a quilt of just eagles?
(Nancy Kirk collection)

And right outside my sewing room window, the eagle watches!!
(wish it was a better photo--taken through the glass window and it was raining!)
I think I see a series of Eagle Quilts in my future!

  1. I'm with you! A series of eagle quilts would be just the ticket! There are so many wonderful patterns and inspirations out there, it's hard to just choose one!

  3. Wow! I'm so happy to find your blog! I recently finished the Summer Celebration pattern by Lori Smith. It has an eagle too! https://www.flickr.com/photos/bevsquiltblocks/14878163447/ I made it in the bright colors that my stash is mostly made up of and think I would have liked it better in the darks of the original quilt. I almost started Jan Patek's eagle quilt about a month ago but managed to restrain myself. I can't believe you have a REAL eagle outside your window! Amazing! Thanks for stopping by the blog! Good luck in the giveaway!

  4. What is funny is that after I looked at a bazillion eagle quilts and patterns and decided to order the pattern that I did, not long after that I came across a huge stack of older quilt magazines at the local mission store.
I purchased a few and one of them was the magazine that you are referring to! :)

  5. I like the Jo Morton eagle quilts the best! Quilter's lament - so many quilts, so little time.
