The pattern that I'd ordered is for a wool quilt...and while I liked the colors in the quilt, I'd probably never be able to create such a color scheme without either purchasing wool, or all new fabric, which I don't want to do :) By stopping now, I can come back to him in the end and decide if I want to leave him be or add anything else.

An eagle has landed

I like the shape of the eagle. Would not be hard to applique. One eagle that I am going to be doing has tiny claws that I think I will change so that I don't have to do them.
ReplyDeleteThis eagle had tiny claws too as well as the beak. I cut a beak template out but embroidered it. I decided to change the rest and forego the claws. On the wool they looked ok but I had a feeling when I looked at the templates that mine would end up looking like misshapen hands or something, even if I tried to embroider ...there is no way I could applique them
ReplyDeleteIt is going to be beautiful and I think you are wise to wait until you get the other squares done and all the colors picked -- but then I know so much about quilting!
ReplyDeleteOh Deb! He turned out perfect!
ReplyDeleteHe looks great! Looking forward to seeing all of his accoutrements!
ReplyDeleteI embiggened the photo to see the fabric you chose. Great choices!
ReplyDeleteHe looks great! Love the color choice.
ReplyDeleteYour eagle looks wonderful. I am always so impressed with the detail that goes into quilting. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Hi Deb! Oh, I love this and you did a beautiful job on your eagle. I like him with these more subtle colors. Thanks for popping in to see me and I had a Midge too with the flip hair!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Very nice, you are certainly coming along with this project.
